Helen Bub- Connor is an Australian composer, vocalist, vocal coach, choral director and educator whose work centres on the transformative and sacred potential of the human voice.

For over four decades, she has created and performed original vocal music across Australia and the UK, spanning contemporary folk, improvisation, experimental music, theatre and interdisciplinary performance.

Her evolving compositional approach, she describes as Quantum Sacred, weaves ancient spiritual texts, chant and universal themes  with contemporary harmony, electronica and immersive soundscapes. A certified Estill Voice Figure Proficiency Coach, Helen has extensive experience teaching singers of all ages through private coaching, workshops, schools and community choirs. Through her creative and educational work, she fosters connection, artistic expression and collective experiences of meaning, resonance and belonging.

Currently based in northern NSW, Helen is working on a suite of songs for Voice and Solo instrument based on the poetry of Sufi Mystics Rabia Al Basri, and Jalal al-din Rumi. In addition, Helen’s practice involves researching and arranging or composing repertoire for the Women’s Voice Ensemble ‘Kalliope On The Shore’. She continues to invest with passion, in her teaching practice of voice and piano students - mentoring, encouraging and guiding the next generation of musicians with whom she is in contact.
